Kylie
Karam

Dental Assistant/Admin Team Member

Hi, I’m Kylie and I’m a highly motivated Dental Assistant, certified with a Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting. I’m passionate about dentistry and believe that shines through with every patient I have the pleasure of working with.

I love working with children and I’m extremely dedicated to my role. I’m always willing to go the extra mile to ensure our patients have a great experience.

When I’m not busy saving the world with my dental superhero powers, I can be found spending time with my two kids and training in the gym – and of course, making sure everyone brushes their teeth twice a day.

If you found a genie in a bottle, what would be your three wishes?
Well, if I found a genie bottle, my first wish would be for unlimited wishes, my second wish would be for unlimited genies and my third wish would be for an unlimited supply of popcorn to enjoy while making all those wishes! Who knew genies could be such great company for a movie night! Lol
What is your favourite colour and why?
My favourite colour is blue because it reminds me of the beauty of the sky and the ocean, the peace of a clear summer day, and the feeling of freedom that comes with exploring new places. Blue also helps me feel calm and inspired, which is why I love it so much!

Jenny
Nguyen

Oral Health Therapist

Hi there! I’m Jenny, Bounce Mobile Dentistry’s Oral Health Therapist & Clinical Lead. I graduated from University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Oral Health in 2016. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of providing oral health education and treatment at different schools, childcares and community centres across New South Wales and Victoria.

When I don’t have my scrub cap on, I love taking photos of my dog (ask me about Cinnamon, I have a whole album on my phone!), looking up new recipes to cook and playing video games. There’s so much more and I can’t wait to share when we get the chance to meet!

If you could have a superpower, what would it be?
Shapeshifting.
Which 3 words best describe you?
Attentive, compassionate and upbeat.

Meriam
Flaifel

Oral Health Therapist

Hi, I’m Meriam. Teeth are really important, how important you may ask? Well, enough that I’ve studied 3 years as an Oral Health Therapist and have dedicated my entire career to making sure my patients have healthy and strong teeth. I’m a fan of sports, and I know it takes a great team to achieve great players. As a team we can check your teeth, give them a clean and strengthen them with some fluoride, whilst you keep brushing at home and avoid those sticky sugars. That way we work together to create a total of 36 strong players, I’d say it’s enough to make it to the grand finale.

I enjoy working with all ages, from seeing little ones excited to place their wobbly teeth out for the tooth fairy and to older kids complaining about their wisdom teeth being no fun. What can I say, it’s a small price to pay for wisdom, I’m sure your parents and teachers appreciate your wiser selves!

Working in dentistry has been great, it’s allowed me to realise that helping children with their oral health can affect their overall health. Changing habits at a young age can really impact their health during adulthood, so please start brushing and flossing, you’ll thank me later. There’s nothing I enjoy more than being outdoors, exploring nature and being inside a dental van. Truth is the dental van is more fun than you think, but there’s only one way to find out.

If the sky could rain food, what food would you like it to rain down?
If my answer were anything other than pizza, I’d be lying. Think about it, anything can be a pizza. Grab yourself a base, add your toppings with a bit of cheese and there you have it, Pizza! The list is endless, and you can enjoy it any time of the day.
What makes you a good friend?
I’d say my friends are blessed with my sense of humour. They say laughter is the best medicine and it’s true it can make any anxious or upsetting situation a little more calming. Although the occasional dad jokes get side-eyed, they still manage to get a reaction and any reaction is better than no reaction.

Nicole
King

Dental Assistant

Hey! I’m Nicole, one of the friendly Dental Assistants in our mobile team. I’m currently studying a Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting, and hoping to advance my studies within the dental industry!

I come from a background in hospitality (hotels), had a few years off to raise my beautiful daughter and now I’m back to help all the kids out there grow up into confident people with beautiful smiles.

On my days off you’ll find me picking vegetables from the garden with my daughter, cooking up a storm and wishing for a sleep in!

Would you rather life back in time or in the future and why?
Back in time, but not too far! I’d love to relive all the really cool international holidays I’ve been on.
How would you describe your perfect day?
Sleep in till 9am, hot coffee, something yummy for breakfast and then a fun adventure!

Bonita
Chan

Dental Assistant

Hi, I’m Bonita and I’m one of the enthusiastic Dental Assistants working with our Oral Health Therapists at Bounce Mobile Dentistry! I’ve completed my Bachelor’s in Medical and Health Sciences and am looking toward a future in medicine.

With a strong passion for paediatrics, I love working with children big or small. We enjoy their company, so I make it my mission to make sure that they enjoy ours!

When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, exercising, napping, and eating out. My absolute favourite snack is chocolate – we’re not all perfect…

Would you rather be able to read people’s mind or be invisible? Explain your reasoning.
I would rather be invisible so I could sleep anywhere at any time and no one would know.
If you had one wish, what would it be?
To be invisible.

Tatiana
Tilman

Dental Assistant

I have completed a Bachelor of Science (applied medical science and anatomy and histology) with the University of Sydney and am currently completing a Certificate III in Dental Assisting.

I have always been passionate about all things health, however found that I gravitated toward Oral Health in particular (could be the foodie in me).

My goal is to be able to promote and educate our population on the importance of maintaining good oral health. In doing so, we’d work towards decreasing chronic lifestyle disease and improving our overall health and well-being.

In my life beyond work, I enjoy trying new foods and staying physically active by playing team sports or working out in the gym.

Donelle
Cowan

Talent Recruitment specialist

Hi, I’m Donelle and I’m the Talent Recruitment Specialist for Bounce Mobile Dentistry. I’ve been in the recruitment industry for 5 years. My favourite thing about my job is building long lasting relationships with so many different people.

Outside of work, you’ll find me catching up with friends and family, going to the beach, shopping and eating out when I can – Mexican and Japanese are my go-to cuisines!

What’s your favourite dessert?
Lemon meringue pie or chocolate mud cake, it’s so hard to choose between the 2!
What did you want to grow up to be/do when you were younger and why?
I always wanted to be a school teacher so I could keep enjoying the school holidays we had at school!  I love travelling so was planning to travel during that time.

Amanda
Bubear

Regional Operations manager

Hi, I’m Amanda and I’m the Regional Operations Manager for the Bounce Mobile Dentistry team and am based in Canberra.  I’ve worked in dentistry on and off for most of my life, having started helping out on reception in my family’s practice as my first after school job.  I’m very passionate about the importance of dental health for overall wellbeing and believe that education about oral health for young patients is crucial to set them up for life.  I am really proud that we are able to provide this mobile service to make visiting the dentist easier and most importantly, to show that it can be fun!  When I’m not travelling around to visit the team, I love to watch rugby and spend time with family and friends.

What’s your favourite thing to do outside?
Head out to Canberra Stadium and cheer on the Brumbies whenever they are playing.
What’s something you’ve learned in life that you’d like to share with the younger generation?
Hmmm, I think I am still learning myself!  Probably to try and work out what your passions are early on and if you can, work in a role that aligns with them – it makes for a much more rewarding work/life balance. Oh, and don’t leave it to your forties to start trying to figure out what you should be doing with superannuation!
