- All of our team members have valid Working with Children’s Checks.
- All of our team members follow PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) protocols as advised by the Australian Dental Association. These include washing hands, hand sanitisation, wearing masks, gloves and protective eyewear.
- All treatment areas are disinfected before and after each child.
- We use single-use disposable diagnostic instruments where possible and/or fully sterile instruments for each child sterilised according to the current infection control guidelines.
CBDS
What is the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)?
The Medicare-funded Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is an Australian Government program that provides up to $1,095 of dental treatment for eligible children aged 0– 17 for at least one day that calendar year, covering most basic general dental services. You do not need to register your child for the CDBS.
Further information can be found here
What is the eligibility criteria for the CDBS?
To get this, your child must be all of the following:
- 0 to 17 years old for at least one day that calendar year
- eligible for Medicare
- getting a payment from us at least once a year, or have a parent getting a payment from us at least once a year.
If you are unsure, it is quick and easy to check your eligibility. Simply ask us or alternatively you can call Medicare on 132 011 (7 days a week, 24 hours a day) or visit www.servicesaustralia.gov.au
How does the $1,095 cap work?
Eligible children may have up to $1,095 of basic dental treatment over a two-year period. It begins at the start of the calendar year and any money not spent in the first year is carried over to the second year. You cannot claim benefits from both private health insurance and the CDBS for the same services.

Eligibility
What happens if my child is eligible?
Once you have completed the consent form, Bounce Mobile Dentistry will check your child’s eligibility. If your child is eligible, they will receive the following dental services:
- A comprehensive examination
- A scale and clean
- Remineralising agent application
Depending on your child’s age and needs, x-rays and fissure sealants may also be required.
My child should be eligible, but I received an SMS saying my child is not eligible for CDBS?
We assess eligibility on an Australian Government Health Services website and as such, are not provided any information as to why your child is not eligible. If you believe you should be eligible, please call Medicare on 132 011 (7 days a week, 24 hours a day) as it can often be rectified easily if a mistake has been made. Let us know when/if it has been rectified and we can check eligibility again for your child.
If my child is not eligible for the CDBS, how much does it cost?
If your child is not eligible for the CDBS funding, Bounce Mobile Dentistry can still provide the same quality services. We can offer a check-up, clean and remineralising agent treatment at a discounted fixed fee of $99 for schools and $79 for childcare centres.
My child is not eligible for CDBS, but I would still like them to be seen. How do I pay?
Too easy! Our admin team will send you a secure payment link via SMS or email. Note: All private appointments must be paid for in advance.
Private Health Insurance
We have private health insurance, can we claim your services?
You sure can (not if you already claimed CDBS benefits though.) Bounce Mobile Dentistry will provide you with an itemised receipt after your child’s appointment. Please note it could take up to a week from your child’s appointment for you to receive this.
During/After Treatment
How will I know what happened at my child’s dental appointment?
A report outlining what was done at your child’s appointment will be provided via SMS/email.
What if my child requires additional treatment?
Children that require additional treatment can be booked in at your child’s school during our booking dates. Our clinician will send a consent from home with your child. Alternatively, if the treatment is more complex, our clinicians will suggest attending a physical dental practice and provide you with details of the treatment required.
What if my child is scared or anxious about dental treatment?
Your child’s dental care is our top priority, and will be provided by highly trained, registered dental clinicians who are skilled in, and genuinely passionate about, working with children. Every effort will be made to ensure that the children participating feel safe and confident about their dental care experience. If your child becomes upset or is otherwise unable to complete their treatment, they will be able to return to class and our clinician will contact your school to reschedule the appointment.
Alternatively, if you have paid for a private appointment, our admin staff will refund the amount in full. Please allow up to 2 business days, sometimes more, for this refund to reflect back into the nominated account.
